Since February 2017, the Immigration Policy Headquarter of the Ministry of Justice has conducted a trial service visit reservation system for foreigners staying at immigration offices in six metropolitan areas, including Seoul and Suwon. This is to resolve the inconvenience of foreigners residing in the country waiting for a long time for civil affairs such as various residence permits. In the past, foreigners had to visit a local immigration office early in the morning to get a numbered ticket and wait for more than three hours. But now, foreigners can access the “Hi Korea” website, make a reservation for the date and time, visit the local immigration office with a reservation receipt, and the civil affairs can be processed within 10 minutes.



□ Login to the “Hi Korea” website, click “Request Visit Reservation” in the top menu or click the “Visit Reservation” shortcut in the middle of the site.
□ Visit Reservation After checking the Employer guide, click Visit Reservation Request (Non-member).
□ Click the jurisdiction information button in the visit reservation application form, select the local immigration agency in the jurisdiction, check the category of the reception warehouse for the civil petition to apply for, and click it.
□ Fill in the applicant's personal information, select the visit date and time, and click Apply, then the visit reservation is completed. If you print out the reservation slip and visit the immigration office in your jurisdiction on the date and time of your reservation, then you can view civil affairs for residence at the dedicated window for reservations.
□ If the reservation is canceled on the day of the visit, if the reservation time for the visit has elapsed by 5 minutes, or if the competent immigration office is incorrectly designated, it will be invalidated.


Since October 2017, in order to facilitate foreigners staying in Korea making a convenient visit, the Ministry of Justice's Immigration Policy Headquarters has implemented a mobile phone service that allows foreigners to make visit reservations in advance. In the past, it was only possible through the Internet. Currently, visit reservations for residents of Korea are being expanded to regional immigration offices nationwide. To make a reservation, visit the Hi Korea website (www.hikorea.go.kr), sign up as a member, log in, or get certified as a non-member to make a reservation. However, when making a visit reservation, the immigration agency must make a reservation with the personal information of the foreigner who requested it.
