Addition of workplaces is not allowed. When changing workplaces, accompaniment by the local government officer is required. Reasons for workplace change: ① When the employer violates various conditions and does not correct them. ② When the seasonal worker cannot continue working through no fault of their own. ③ When, according to social norms, a foreign seasonal worker cannot work at the originally contracted employer’s site, etc. Required documents: ① Integrated application form, passport ※ No fee for workplace change ② Confirmation of residence/accommodation provision ③ Copy of standard labor contract ④ Certificate of industrial accident insurance or agricultural/fisheries safety insurance certificate ※ Submission of proof documents when changing to a newly changed employer is possible ⑤ Health insurance enrollment certificate or proof documents (submit only if applicable) ⑥ Confirmation letter of employer designated for seasonal worker placement (issued by local government to the new employer) ※ Previous employer must submit employment change notification to immigration office and local government □ Short-Term Employment Other Than Seasonal Work (C-4-5) Authority to approve workplace changes or additions for short-term employment (C-4) holders is delegated to the head of the immigration office (branch or field office). No employment recommendation letter from the competent ministry is required when changing workplaces. (However, if the activity falls under E-1 to E-7 and requires an employment recommendation letter, it must be obtained.) Passport will be stamped with workplace change approval, and the changed workplace and period of stay will be noted, or a workplace change approval sticker for short-term employment (C-4) status will be attached. There is no limit on the number of workplace additions. ※ When changing performance venues under E-6-1 status according to the affiliated company’s instructions, activities can be carried out without separate approval or notification procedures. (For activities under E-6-2, notification of employer change is required.) ※ When applying for a workplace change for activities not within the scope allowed by the short-term visa, if the activities are highly related and the necessary qualifications for the activity are met, the head of the immigration office (branch or field office) may allow the change. | Permission for Change of Stay Status | □ Short-term Employment Other Than Seasonal Work (C-4-5)
1. For athletes, musicians, dancers, and participants in international competitions with prize money who enter visa-free (B-1, B-2) or with short-term visit visa (C-3) for entrance tests, etc., submission of relevant proof documents is required, and approval for status change is at the discretion of the head of the immigration office (branch or field office). Change of status may be allowed if there are unavoidable reasons or if it is necessary for national interest. Upon approval, the period of stay counts from the date of entry. Change of status to activities under Artistic Performance (E-6-2) is not allowed. 2. In cases where distinguished persons such as Nobel Prize winners intend to conduct lectures or similar activities. ※ Distinguished persons are defined as those who are university presidents, or individuals with papers published in world-renowned scientific journals, and whose careers are objectively verifiable through media reports, etc. 3. | Permission for Extension of Stay Period | 1. From August 23, 2010, as a general rule, visas are issued with a 90-day stay period (stay exceeding 90 days from the date of entry is not allowed).
