Persons intending to stay for no more than 90 days for purposes such as tourism, transit, medical care, visiting relatives, friendly sports matches, participation or attendance at various events or meetings, cultural arts, general training, lessons, attendance at religious ceremonies, academic data collection, or other similar purposes. As of December 15, 2011, the short-term business (C-2) and short-term general (C-3) stay qualifications were integrated. The short-term visit (C-3) status cannot be issued to persons engaging in profit-making activities. Stay Status Codes C-3-1 Short-term General All persons within the scope of short-term visit (C-3) except for pure tourism (C-3-2) to visiting compatriots (C-3-9). C-3-2 Group Tourism, etc. Persons entering for group or individual tourism, airport-only small-scale activities, etc., where a travel agency takes responsibility as guarantor upon expiration of stay period. C-3-3 Medical Tourism Short-term visitors among foreign patient visa holders and those subject to visa issuance approval guidelines. C-3-4 Short-term Business Persons engaged in business activities such as market research, business contacts, consultations, contracts, small-scale trade, and APEC cardholders entering without a visa. C-3-5 Agreement-based Short-term Business Persons entering for short-term business under agreements (limited to CEPA, FTA, etc.: India, Chile). C-3-6 Preferred Company Invitation Short-term Business Persons invited by companies or organizations selected as preferred companies. C-3-7 Arrival Tourism Persons entering through airports and receiving an arrival visa. C-3-8 Visiting Compatriots Persons eligible for visiting compatriot visa issuance. C-3-9 General Tourism General tourists not included in C-3-2 (group tourism, etc.). ❍ If the individual falls within the scope of short-term visit (C-3) activities, has no suspicion of illegal employment, and the necessity for extension is recognized, extension is possible within the 90-day stay period from the date of entry. * (Examples of reasons for extension) ① When there is no available vessel for departure or unavoidable reasons such as unforeseen accidents or illness at the time of entry can be proven ② Those who entered for purposes such as visiting relatives or language study and are not suspected of illegal employment (e.g., Korean descendants abroad, families of marriage immigrants) ③ Business visitors who need to extend their stay due to reasons such as delays in export/import shipping or departure delays ④ Holders of multiple-entry visas who need to prove the necessity of continuing to stay beyond the granted stay period after entry 2.
