a. Eligible Persons * Family members of a deceased person due to accidents, etc. (G-1-7) * Persons requiring humanitarian consideration, such as sexual assault victims (G-1-11) * Persons with other applicable reasons (G-1-99) b. Scope of Employment Activities * Employment is allowed in simple labor sectors, excluding restricted industries (Attachment 2). * For professional work, the person must meet the qualifications prescribed by the Immigration Control Act and relevant laws. c. Review Criteria * The work must not be in a restricted industry. * The employer at the planned workplace must not fall under the restrictions set by the “Standards for Restricting Issuance of Visa Recognition Certificates for Employers Engaging in Illegal Employment of Foreigners” (Immigration Management Division-5057, 5085, 2018.08.07). * If these standards are amended, the updated standards apply. d. Permission Period * Maximum of 1 year within the duration of stay. * Upon extension, verify whether employment has changed; if so, obtain a new permission for activities outside the stay status in advance. e. Eligible persons * (Registered foreigners) Those who require long-term treatment due to illness or accident and cannot maintain their original visa status. * (Short-term visa holders) Those who suffered an accident and inevitably require long-term treatment. ※ Those who entered with a short-term visa (B-1, B-2, C-3) for health check-up or treatment and are deemed in need of long-term treatment/care through a medical institution shall change to foreign patient status (G-1-10). * Family members (spouse and direct family) of the patient requiring long-term treatment. b. Period of stay permitted * Within 1 year. c. Required documents * Medical opinion, etc., issued by a medical institution proving the need for treatment. * Documents proving ability to cover medical and living expenses. * Letter of guarantee. * Family relationship documents (only if accompanied by spouse or direct family). * Confirmation of ability to maintain livelihood (used when extending stay). 3. Persons involved in lawsuits (G-1-3) a. Eligible persons * Those in civil lawsuits (e.g., compensation for industrial accident, return of lease deposit). * Those in criminal lawsuits, including: * Foreigners on trial after detention was canceled and investigation continues without detention. * Foreigners released on bail awaiting trial. * Foreigners released after detention review awaiting trial. * Foreigners on suspended sentence appealing a verdict, etc. * Those in family or administrative lawsuits. b. Period of stay permitted * Within 6 months. c. Application jurisdiction * In principle, immigration office with jurisdiction over the foreigner’s place of residence. d. Eligible persons * Those who filed a complaint with the Ministry of Employment and Labor for unpaid wages and are under mediation. * Those whose complaint remains unresolved and have filed a civil lawsuit. b. Period of stay permitted * Within 6 months. c. Required documents * Application form (Form No. 34), passport, 1 standard-size photo, fee. * Copy of complaint submitted to the Ministry of Labor. * Certificate of unpaid wages issued by the Ministry of Labor, etc. * Letter of guarantee. * Confirmation of ability to maintain livelihood (used when extending stay). 5. Refugee applicants (G-1-5) and rejected applicants with humanitarian stay permit (G-1-6) a. Eligible persons * Foreigners in Korea who applied for refugee recognition (G-1-5). * Refugee applicants denied recognition but granted humanitarian stay (G-1-6). b. Period of stay permitted * Refugee applicants: 6 months to 1 year. * However, period may be flexibly granted within the 1-year limit depending on lawsuit schedule or humanitarian considerations. * Humanitarian stay permit holders: 1 year from the date of notification. c. Required documents * Application form (Form No. 34), passport & alien registration card, 1 standard-size photo, fee. * Refugee application receipt, etc., proving refugee or humanitarian stay status. * Proof of residence (lease contract, accommodation confirmation, notification mail of stay expiration, utility bill, dormitory fee receipt, confirmation from church/refugee support facility/human rights group/UNHCR, etc.). * Fee same as general foreign residents. 6. Persons with unavoidable humanitarian reasons such as pregnancy/childbirth (G-1-9) a. Eligible persons * Those unable to depart immediately due to pregnancy or childbirth. b. Period of stay permitted * 1 year. c. Required documents * Application form (Form No. 34), passport, 1 standard-size photo, fee. * Medical certificate or other documents proving reason. * Letter of guarantee. 7. Foreign patients (G-1-10) a. Eligible persons * Those who entered with B-1, B-2, or C-3 (incl. C-3-3) and are deemed in need of long-term treatment/care by a medical institution. * Patient requiring long-term stay and accompanying family (spouse, etc.) and caregiver if deemed necessary. b. Guidelines * Status: G-1-10, Period of stay: within 1 year. c. Required documents 1. Application form (Form No. 34), passport, 1 standard-size photo, fee. 2. Medical opinion, etc., proving need for long-term treatment. 3. Documents proving ability to cover treatment and living costs. * May be omitted if sponsoring institution or guarantor provides guarantee. 4. Family/caregiver relationship documents. 8. Victims of sexual violence or other humanitarian cases (G-1-11) a. Eligible persons * Foreign residents who are victims of sexual violence crimes, forced prostitution, habitual abuse, or serious crimes, and are undergoing judicial, investigative, or other legal remedies (civil/criminal). b. Period of stay permitted * 1 year. c. Required documents * Application form (Form No. 34), passport, 1 standard-size photo, fee. * Litigation-related documents proving remedy. * Letter of guarantee. 9. Other cases (G-1-99) a. Eligible persons * Children born in Korea to refugee applicants (G-1-5) meeting all of the following : ① Parents (G-1-5) must be in lawful stay. * Not eligible if parents are only granted departure grace period. ② Child is under 17 and has not applied for refugee status. * Not eligible if the child applied for refugee status. b. Period of stay permitted * Until the expiration of the parent’s (G-1-5) stay period. c.
