| Permission for Extension of Stay Period | 1. Initial 6 months, thereafter extension permitted within 2 years from the date of entry
* Whether to extend is decided by confirming the necessity of the extension period, past departure rate, legal violations, etc., according to the guideline dated April 5, 2010. ‣ Guidelines on Issuance and Management of Visa Issuance Certificates for Technical Trainees of Overseas Investment Companies, etc. (Article 5) The training period for technical trainees, in principle, shall not exceed 6 months from the date of entry. However, if the office head (or branch office) recognizes that additional training is necessary, the training period may be extended within the limit of not exceeding 2 years from the date of entry. 3. Application Documents ① Application form (Form No. 34), original passport, alien registration card, fee ② Statement of reasons for extension of training period (separate form) ③ Business registration certificate and factory registration certificate (or factory registration confirmation, only for applicable persons) ④ Tax payment certificate of domestic corporation ⑤ Proof of tax payment of local corporation * Receipts of taxes related to business activities (corporate tax, value-added tax) * Receipts of various public charges (one of electricity bill, water bill, building tax, land tax) ⑥ Documents confirming payment of trainee wages and training allowance * Payroll of trainee wages paid by local corporation (most recent 1 month): check for trainees who work after training and trainees dispatched to Korea * Payroll of training allowance paid by domestic company ⑦ Original personal guarantee ⑧ Certificates of subscription to industrial accident compensation insurance, national health insurance, and guarantee insurance to cover unpaid training allowances, etc. ⑨ Proof of residence (lease contract, accommodation confirmation, notice mail for expiration of stay period, receipts of public utility payments, dormitory fee receipts, etc.) |
| Re-entry Permit | Exemption applies to those who wish to re-enter within one year from the date of departure.
If the remaining stay period is less than one year, exemption applies within the remaining stay period. |
