Children from Previous Marriages of Marriage Immigrants (F-1-52) a. Eligible persons: Children born from a prior marriage of a marriage immigrant (F-6, F-5-2) who are staying in Korea under F-1-52 (visiting cohabitation) status and have not been adopted by the Korean spouse. b. Period of stay (cannot exceed the marriage immigrant’s period of stay): - Minors (under 19 years old): - Attending a school recognized as part of public education: 2 years Not attending a school recognized as part of public education: 1 year Special case for older children (19 years or older): If a legally staying adult child of a previous marriage enters a recognized high school before turning 19 and continues studying at the same school, the stay may be extended once for up to 1 year until the end of February of the year they graduate. - The maximum age limit for stay under F-1-52 for children from previous marriages is 21 years. c. Marriage immigrant’s Korean spouse’s basic certificate, family relationship certificate, detailed marriage certificate, resident registration 3. Certificate of enrollment (if attending a school recognized as part of public education) 4. Proof of residence (rental contract, etc.); if from a high TB-risk country, a tuberculosis examination certificate (if required) 14. Digital Nomad (Workation) Visa (F-1-D) a. Eligible persons: Those staying in Korea under the Digital Nomad status who maintain an employment contract with an overseas corporation. b. Conditions for stay: Eligibility: Foreign nationals who either own an overseas business or are employed by an overseas company and can work remotely, having worked in the same industry for at least one year, and their family members. Age: 18 years or older (children accompanying the family are exceptions) Income: Must earn at least twice the previous year’s per capita Gross National Income (GNI) as announced by the Bank of Korea. c. Required documents: Common documents: ① Visa application form (Form No. 17), passport, one standard-sized photograph, fee ② Certificate of employment (must prove employment in the same industry for at least one year) ③ Proof of income: pay slips, bank statements, or similar documents ④ Criminal record certificate, proof of health insurance enrollment ⑤ Proof of family relationship (if family is accompanying) ⑥ Any other documents deemed necessary by the head of the immigration office |
| Re-Entry Permit | 1. Exemption from Re-Entry Permit (Implemented Dec. 1, 2010, by amended Enforcement Rules)
- Foreign nationals who have completed registration are exempt from obtaining a re-entry permit if they re-enter within one year from their departure. - If the remaining stay period is less than one year, the re-entry permit exemption applies within the scope of the remaining stay period. ※ However, those subject to entry restrictions or visa issuance restrictions must visit the local immigration office (branch or sub-office) to obtain a re-entry permit. 2. Multiple Re-Entry Permit Restrictions: Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Libya have limitations on multiple re-entries. However, nationals of these countries holding Marriage Immigrant (F-6), Student (D-2), or General Training (D-4) visas are exempt. - Eligibility: For re-entry within 2 years after departure if the stay period exceeds 1 year. - Required documents: Application form (Form No. 34), original passport, Alien Registration Card, and fee. |
