Those who have stayed in Korea for more than 3 years with (D-8) qualification and non-professional employment (E-9) qualification holders who are skilled workers and professional human resources from professor (E-1) qualification to specific activity (E-7) qualification Those who fall under the above categories include those who have stayed in Korea for more than 5 years, those who have been recognized as refugees, immigrants in real estate investment, immigrants in public service projects, and those who qualify for residence under the professional manpower point system (F-2-7).
The resident visa system based on the points system for professionals is for professionals residing in Korea who have been verified as excellent talents, are not restricted in employment activities, and are free to engage in economic activities (F-2-7). It refers to a system that allows applicants to apply for permanent residence (F-5) status after staying in Korea for more than one year.

Those who can apply for a change of residence status to the professional manpower point system residence status (F-2-7) are as follows:
First, professors (E-1), conversation instruction (E-2), research (E-3), technical guidance (E-4), professional manpower (E-5), art shows (E-6) (excluding performers (E-6-2) at hotels, entertainment establishments, etc.), and those who have been staying legally for more than one year with a special activity (E-7) visa
Second, those who have been staying legally for more than 1 year with the sojourn status of Journalism (D-5), Religion (D-6), Presidency (D-7), Corporate Investment (D-8), Trade Management (D-9)
Third, a person who has been staying legally for more than one year with a study abroad (D-2) or job-seeking (D-10) visa
However, holders of study abroad (D-2) and job-seeking (D-10) visas are limited to those who have obtained (including those expected to acquire) a master's degree or higher from a domestic university and have been confirmed to be employed by a domestic company. Confirmed employment refers to cases in which an employment contract has been concluded with the relevant institution, organization, or company after meeting the qualifications for qualifications ranging from professor (E-1) to specific activity (E-7).

Among the professionals residing in Korea, as shown in the below, age (25 points), academic background (35 points), Korean proficiency (20 points), current income (10 points), additional points (35 points), deductions (-5 points), etc., if the standard score is 80 points or more out of a total of 125 points, you can apply for a change to the residence status based on the points system (F-2-7).

Documents to be submitted when applying for permission to change the status of residence (F-2-7) for professional personnel are as follows: Application form, passport, alien registration card, diploma or graduation certificate (only for high school graduates), documents proving Korean proficiency, documents related to income, employment contract, social integration program completion confirmation, income tax payment proof, social service activity certificate, career certificate, etc. Evidence, etc., necessary for the recognition of additional points is required.
On the other hand, in the case of the following disqualifications, the point-based residency qualification for professional personnel may be disapproved. If you have been sentenced to imprisonment or heavier punishment (except for cases where the sentence has lapsed under the Act on Revocation of Punishment, etc.), if you have been punished less than a fine for violating domestic laws and regulations, such as the Immigration Control Act, three or more times within two years from the date of application, or if you have not paid the imposed fine (however, if a formal procedure is in progress due to dissatisfaction with a notice or a fine for negligence), in this case, the review is deferred until the final judgment of the judicial authorities, and based on the result, whether or not there is a reason for disqualification is determined). If you are subject to a ground for entry ban or if there is a risk of harming the security and order maintenance of the Republic of Korea, the public welfare, or other interests of the Republic of Korea, if you submit false documents when applying for permission to change your residence status, please note that a change of status of residence to a point-based residence status may not be permitted.
The basic direction of the competency evaluation method when changing the residence status of professional personnel based on the point system is as follows: First, the distribution of points and standard scores for each evaluation item are evaluated objectively by scoring the age, educational background, income, and Korean language proficiency announced by the Minister of Justice. Second, additional points are given to outstanding foreign talents residing in Korea who have a high level of expertise, social contribution, and social integration, such as science and engineering majors, those with excellent Korean language skills, those who have completed social integration programs, high-income taxpayers, and those with excellent domestic social service performance. Third, in consideration of social integration, if the residence status in Korea of the applicant, accompanying family members, and invitees is not sound, points will be deducted during the score evaluation. The distribution of points for each category is as shown in the following
