A : Official Duties

  • A-1 : Diplomat
    • Diplomacy (Period of stay : During Incumbency)

      1. Eligibility

      A. Members of Diplomatic Missions or Consular Posts of Foreign Governments

      - This includes diplomatic staff such as ambassadors, ministers, counselors, and secretaries accredited to the Republic of Korea.
      - This includes consuls general and consuls accredited to the Republic of Korea (consuls being those who perform consular functions in their capacity).

      B. Persons Granted the Same Privileges and Immunities as Diplomats by Treaties or International Practices

      - This includes the Secretary-General and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, as well as the heads of UN specialized agencies.
      - This includes heads of state, ministers, speakers of legislative bodies, and members of foreign government delegations attending conferences hosted by the Korean government.

      C. Family Members of the Above Persons

      - Family members include spouses, children, and parents residing with diplomats stationed in Korea.

      * Attached Documents

      1. Visa application form, passport, one standard-sized photo, fee
      2. Documents proving dispatch or employment, or a cooperation letter from the relevant Minister of Foreign Affairs
      3. For accompanying family members of members of a foreign government’s diplomatic mission or consular post, family relationship certificates, birth certificates, and other documents proving family relationship issued by the home country
      * The head of the overseas diplomatic mission may add or reduce the attached documents if necessary to review the purpose of entry, the authenticity of the invitation, and the qualifications of the inviter.
