Procedures to be followed when taking disciplinary measures on an employee (e.g. deadlines, hearing)?

No statutory procedures for disciplinary action are regulated in the law.
Instead, if the procedures are stated in the rules of employment or collective agreement, an employer has to follow the procedures. Unless, it will be considered invalid.
Generally, it requires a process that gives an applicable employee an opportunity to defend him/herself.
